We are seeking someone who is passionate and skilled to address a variety of mental health topics for Chicagoland’s Jewish community.

  • Want to make a real difference in our community? The Jewish Community Specialist is a clinically trained “switch hitter” who facilitates support groups, offers professional training and community education, and accepts calls for intake and referral services across all Community Services programs. 

Our programs focus on abuse prevention, bereavement support, family building, addiction and recovery, mental health, and pastoral care.  You can make a difference in so many ways when you join the JCFS Chicago Community Services team.

  • Compensation: the minimum compensation for this position is $53,000

Job Category: Union Eligible- Program/Professional

Responsibilities include some or all of the following:

  • Work closely with colleagues and Jewish communal partners to develop, present and/or facilitate education and support programming.
  • Screen and connect individuals and families with appropriate resources.
  • Provide timely and accurate data and other program information for evaluations and grant reporting.
  • Represent JCFS and its programs in a positive manner to both internal and external contacts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field with a minimum of two years of clinical experience. 
  • Extensive experience facilitating psychoeducational support groups.
  • Strong in-person and online facilitation and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of local and national mental health resources.
  • Excellent organizational skills to ensure competing priorities are completed in a strategic manner.
  • Skilled, sensitive engagement with individuals across the Jewish spectrum.
  • Ability to travel to different locations, primarily on Chicago’s north side and north/northwest suburbs, required.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
