Job description:

We are looking for an experienced Preschool Teacher to play with, attend to and educate babies and small children. The ideal candidate must have a great love and patience for children. They should be a team player with a strong and reliable work ethic.

Qualifications needed to teach effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage and earn the trust and attention of the children. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the children in a Jewish preschool setting.

Responsibilities

  • As a floater, you must be prepared each day to work in a classroom of children from ages 6 weeks for pre-k, depending on the need.
  • Support the lead teacher to implement a loving, careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, music etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and hone social skills
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
  • Assist during nap and meal hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
  • Assist in the tracking of children’s progress
  • Communicate using the Brightwheel App (training given)
  • Collaborate with other educators
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher's Assistant or Teacher
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as mediator between children
  • Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
  • Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
  • Certification in child CPR (will train)
  • HSD with experience or CDA/AA/BSc/BA in education or relevant field preferred

Must have or be willing to obtain all clearances and necessary trainings.

Salary16.00 - 20.00 Hour
