The Role

Los Angeles is home to one of the largest Jewish teen populations in America — and to a generation of teens who want exactly what Club Z offers: a place to figure out who they are, and the confidence that comes with knowing.

We’re hiring a Regional Director to build the strongest chapter in the country.

You will own Club Z in Los Angeles. You decide who to reach and how, build the relationships that make it real, and grow the base of support that carries it. If you know Jewish LA — the schools, the shuls, the families, the rooms where things actually get decided — this is a chapter with real history and enormous room to run.

What You’ll Do

Grow the LA community  —  40%

• Serve as Club Z’s face and primary point of contact in Los Angeles.
• Recruit new teens into the chapter and deepen engagement with families across the region.
• Plan and run community events, social programming, and parlor meetings.
• Partner with Club Z Educators to deliver evening and weekend institute sessions.
• Meet regularly — in person — with parents and teens.
• Support teen leaders in speaking at their schools, synagogues, and youth organizations.

Build regional support  —  40%

• Manage a defined portfolio of current and prospective Los Angeles supporters, with a cultivation and solicitation plan for each, developed with the Chief Development Officer.
• Host cultivation gatherings and parlor meetings that move people from interest to investment.
• Independently solicit and close gifts in the four- and five-figure range; partner with the CEO and Chief Development Officer on major asks.
• Meet annual goals for donor visits, solicitations, and dollars raised, established jointly at hire.
• Keep donor records and pipeline data current in Club Z’s systems.

You will not be expected to build regional development strategy on your own. Strategy, prospect research, and top-tier solicitations are shared with our Chief Development Officer and CEO. What you own is the relationships.

Represent Club Z  —  20%

• Represent Club Z at community events, large and small, and in front of partner organizations across Jewish Los Angeles

• Build working partnerships with schools, synagogues, and youth organizations.
• Use social media and digital platforms to grow regional visibility.
• Collaborate with other Club Z regions on national programming.

Who You Are

Required

• 5+ years in community organizing, Jewish communal work, youth engagement, or another relationship-driven role.
• Sales, fundraising, or business development experience — you have carried a target and hit it consistently. We are open to varied sector sales and fundraising experience, it does not have to be non-profit or philanthropy but you must have the experience. 
• Entrepreneurial and self-directed. You have built something where there wasn’t much, You take the initiative and run your own calendar, you would rather build than maintain.
• You communicate concisely and transparently to the management team about your activities and execution. 
• Demonstrated success building programming for teens or young adults.
• Deep alignment with Club Z’s mission: Jewish identity first, Zionist grounding, and the confidence that follows from both.
• A strong public speaker — equally comfortable in a living room and on a stage.
• Based in Los Angeles. Strong preference for a true Angeleno — someone who knows this community from the inside: its schools, its synagogues, its institutions, and its families.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends as programming requires, and to travel statewide and nationally two to three times a year.

Helpful, not required

• Experience managing junior staff.
• CRM or donor database fluency.
• Content creation and social media skills.

Logistics & Compensation

Reports to the Chief Operating Officer but works closely with and at the direction of both the Chief Development Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Full-time and exempt, based in Los Angeles and working in the community. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

This role sets its own schedule. There are no set office hours — some weeks include evening and weekend programming, and in exchange your weekdays are largely yours to shape. What we ask in return is transparency and visibility: a current calendar, activity logged in our systems, and regular communication and check-ins. We measure results and impact, not hours.

Salary: $80,000–$92,000, commensurate with experience.

This role is eligible for an annual performance bonus tied to pre-established program and development goals.

Club Z builds Jewish identity in teens. Since 2011 we have run chapters across the country on a purpose-built curriculum grounded in Jewish history, peoplehood, and Zionism, and we have graduated a generation of alumni who arrive on campus already knowing who they are and why it matters.

Our conviction is simple: teens first need to know who they are — clearly, literately, and without embarrassment. Everything else, including the confidence to speak for Israel and for themselves, follows from that. A lot of Jewish teens right now are keeping their heads down. Ours don’t.
