The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. Position Summary:

The Institutional Advancement department is seeking a highly organized and proactive professional to serve as a Development & Executive Assistant to the Senior Director & Ambassador. Our ideal candidate combines administrative excellence with donor engagement support, ensuring smooth operations and strategic coordination for high-level fundraising initiatives. This hybrid position operates in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Executive Support 

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support including calendar management, expenses administration and travel arrangements. 
  • Prepare briefing materials, donor research and itineraries for donor visits and events. 
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database including contact information, moves management updates, and gift documentation. 
  • Facilitate donor correspondence by phone or email, including fielding questions, managing gift acknowledgment letters, and stewardship materials. 
  • Prepare briefing documents and donor profiles for cultivation and solicitation meetings. 

Donor Research & Prospect Development 

  • Serve as the liaison between fundraisers and the Senior Director & Ambassador, managing and prioritizing incoming research requests. 
  • Manage the data input for the CRM, Velocity; ensuring accurate and timely donor data entry, including gift tracking and donor recognition.   
  • Tag donors in the CRM following events and create tracking systems to improve list segmentation and communications. 
  • Produce financial and donor reports, offering insights to support fundraising and strategic planning.  
  • Oversee data integrity by ensuring accurate and timely donor data entry, including gift tracking and donor recognition.  

Stewardship and Engagement Opportunities  

  • Work with relationship managers across the organization to identify opportunities in their cities and departments to create a pipeline of donors.  
  • Organize holiday mailings and stewardship opportunities for prospects, hosts and donors. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • 6+ years' experience in development environment or a non-profit organization 
  • Flexibility is essential, as the position involves work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Close attention to detail, ability to organize and complete projects accurately and efficiently  
  • Successful management of time, and keeping to deadlines  
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written  
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with different types of individuals  
  • Passion for taking on challenging projects, and ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously  
  • Strong eagerness to learn more about all aspects of non-profit fundraising  
  • Desire to strategize on ways to engage with our alumni, parents, and broader community 
Salary60,000.00 - 75,000.00 Annual
