Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Manager for our Early Childhood Academy (ECA). The ideal candidate will possess strong financial, organizational, and operational management skills, with the ability to oversee the business and financial functions of the school in a professional and efficient manner. The ECA enjoys a vibrant atmosphere with over 100 children, ages 2 through 4, enrolled each year.

The ECA Business Manager will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the Early Childhood Academy, including budgeting, billing, tuition management, registration billing, and financial coordination with synagogue leadership and committees. The business director will report directly to the synagogue Executive Director and coordinate with the ECA Director.

Responsibilities

ECA Registrations/Income

  • Work directly with the ECA families during registration process, overseeing all account billing
  • Track student registrations, maintaining continuously up to date billing as changes occur

Expense Tracking

  • Track spending for the program on budget line-item basis
  • Maintain accurate financial records and associated administrative systems

Budgeting

  • Prepare ECA annual budget in coordination with the Executive Director, the ECA committee, the DHJC Finance committee and the ECA Director
  • Oversee program budgets, financial resources, and operational timelines
  • Monitor Budget performance of actual revenue/ expenditures vs budget

Reporting

  • Prepare financial reports monthly for review by the Executive Director and the

Finance committee

  • Prepare other reports as requested by the Executive Director

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven management and financial administration experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
  • Experience managing budgets and financial operations
  • Experience working in an educational environment preferred
  • Strong computer and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 required (especially Excel)
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, families, synagogue leadership, and committees
  • Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced family environment

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 5 hours per day
