Teen Teaching Opportunity at Temple Beth David in Westwood, MA for January-May 2026
Temple Beth David in Westwood is seeking a 7th grade and elective teacher to join our “Double Chai” teen learning community starting January 2026! We are a vibrant and welcoming Reform congregation in greater Boston, looking for a caring and creative educator to be part of our innovative education team.
Our teen learning program meets on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:45pm including dinner. This teaching position is for the remainder of the year (January-May) and includes teaching the 7th grade class and an elective open to all students (7th-11th grades), which can be based on your interests.
Our 7th grade students begin the year by reflecting on the “Torah of our Lives,” connecting Jewish texts and values to their identities and responsibilities to themselves, their families, friends, communities, and the broader world. The second half of the 7th grade curriculum shifts to learn about the history of antisemitism and to take a closer look at the Holocaust, its impact on the Jewish people, and our responsibilities for repairing the world today.
Applicants should enjoy engaging and inspiring teens, have experience working in a Jewish setting, and general knowledge of Jewish customs. Knowledge and experience with Holocaust education is a plus. Experience supporting students with diverse learning styles is helpful. You will receive mentoring, support and guidance. We look forward to welcoming you to Temple Beth David! Compensation is commensurate with experience.
