Marketing and Communications Associate

Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School | Full-time, Hourly | Reports to Marketing and Communications Manager

 

About the Role

Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School is seeking a dynamic professional (1-2 years of experience) to join our marketing and communications team. This role supports the department’s initiatives to shape our public image and engage all stakeholders. Since its establishment in 1972, Heschel has cultivated a profound educational environment, fostered a strong sense of community, and upheld the enduring values of the Jewish people.

 

What You'll Do

Communications & Content Creation (80%)

Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to:

  • Produce internal and external communications including email, social media posts, website content, and print/digital marketing materials
  • Capture, edit, and produce photo and video content that brings the school's story to life
  • Create visual assets for print and digital platforms
  • Design and build complex forms in Jotform (e.g. registration, payment, survey, etc.)

Office Support (20%)

  • Be a welcoming, customer service-oriented presence in the main office
  • Provide periodic reception coverage and administrative support including answering phones and greeting visitors in the main office and IT office
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up food, drink, and supplies for school events
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling personnel, school, student, and community matters

What You Bring

Experience

  • At least one year of demonstrated experience (school or nonprofit setting preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, creative writing, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Jewish culture and community with ability to authentically integrate a Jewish voice into all communications

Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt to different audiences
  • Stellar organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative team player
  • Tech savvy with the ability to learn new technologies, systems, and platforms quickly
  • Working knowledge of email marketing systems
  • Understanding of social media applications, including current trends and engagement analytics
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred (Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign, Photoshop)

Compensation

Salary: $25-29/hour

This is an on-campus position requiring five-day-a-week attendance.
