Toddler and Bridge Lead Teacher - Maternity Leave

Sutton Place Family Center/ Kaplan Nursery School is seeking an infancy expert to facilitate our Toddler and Bridge Programs for children 1- 2.5 years old.

Our goal is to create an early learning community where a young child’s social and emotional growth and intellectual development can flourish. Within the context of play, our balanced program includes both structured and open-ended activities enabling children to build the skills and self-assurance needed to become confident, joyful, and life-long learners. Fostering relationships with families is a priority. We aim to create a space where caregivers are encouraged to ask questions and become involved in their children’s development. We are committed to sharing the value of Judaism by integrating the celebration of Jewish Holidays into an age-appropriate program. The school is an integral part of the vibrant and long-standing Sutton Place Synagogue community.

- Part time, Maternity Leave

- March 15th- June 15th, Monday to Thursday 8:30-1:00

- Option to stay on for Sutton Summer Camp June 15th- July 31st

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

? Is passionate about Early Childhood Education and infant and toddler development.
? Works collaboratively and enthusiastically with a team of educators, administrators, and parents/caregivers.
? Facilitates a warm and approachable class community. Encourages both children and families to ask questions and become an active participant in their learning.
? Participates in the planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate, emergent classroom curriculum.
? Articulates and documents philosophy and classroom happenings clearly.
? Documents and displays children’s work.
? Participates in professional development & staff meetings, looking at self as an ongoing learner
? Familiar with emergency protocols & procedures.
? Maintains a clean and organized classroom, which is prepared each day for class.
? Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree (or working towards) preferred.
