5th Grade Religious School Teacher

Temple Sholom, a warm and welcoming Reform congregation, in Union County, NJ, is seeking teachers for the following positions in our Religious School for the 2026–2027 school year:

Location: Temple Sholom, 1925 Lake Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 

5th Grade Religious School Teacher

Schedule: Tuesdays, 3:45-6:30 PM, September through May 

Responsibilities: 

• Lead a small class of 5th grade students 
• Teach Judaic studies using our religious school curriculum
• Supported by a classroom aide/madrichim 
• Communicate regularly with parents and the Rabbi

Qualifications: 

• Warmth, patience, and enthusiasm for working with children required
• Basic Judaic knowledge 
• Background check required

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
