Provide communications and administrative support for the Clergy, Administrator, and Board members to maximize engagement with congregants. Create and implement communication systems; manage congregant information; and support the day-to-day operations and programming of an active congregation. This position is accountable to the Administrator and Rabbi on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibilities:• Create and distribute time-sensitive communications to congregants via mail, email, the TBT website, social media, and other means as appropriate• Maintain the online directory and electronic databases with congregant information• Monitor dates of congregant life cycle events and generate communications to acknowledge important milestones• Schedule and maintain internal and external calendars of religious activities; Board, Committee and Clergy meetings; and special events• Serve as the focal point for incoming mail, emails, and telephone calls• Provide administrative support to the Clergy and Administrator• Provide administrative support to Board members and congregants engaged in Temple programming activities • Collect and edit articles, publish, and distribute a monthly newsletter• Work with the Administrator, Board, and Clergy to monitor and adjust administrative processes and communication strategies to maximize cost effective engagement with congregants and the greater community• Discreetly handle confidential and sensitive information Skills and Qualifications:• The ability to attend to a range of tasks and function efficiently in a busy office environment• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to responsibly manage confidential information• Excellent writing and proofreading skills• The ability to collaborate with professional staff and volunteers, as well as work independently• The ability to evaluate and learn new software programs and applications• Proficiency required for the following: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point); Google Workspace (including Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar); Dropbox; Zoom• Proficiency strongly preferred for the following: Email marketing programs (e.g., Mailchimp); Customer relationship management (CRM) programs (e.g., ShulCloud); website content management systems (CMS); social media platforms (e.g., Facebook); design programs (e.g., Canva, InDesign)
