The American Friends of Hand in Hand (AFHIH) is seeking a major gifts officer to be based in the greater metro region of New York, Boston, Washington DC or Philadelphia. This position demands a person with a strong belief and commitment to the values, vision and mission of AFHIH.
The mission of AFHIH is to promote peaceful, just, and inclusive shared society between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel primarily by supporting the network of integrated bilingual schools and public communities organized and operated by Hand in Hand: Center for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Hold a portfolio of existing major donors as a relationship manager for further cultivation and solicitation.
- Identify new prospects in her/his geographic region and elsewhere.
- Work in close collaboration with AFHIH executive director, Hand in Hand co-founder, and board members to maximize outreach to donors and prospects, including foundations.
- Active solicitation of donors
- Careful recording of donor/prospect communication into the organization’s Salesforce CRM/Database
Skills & Qualifications:
- 7 years minimum experience in fundraising roles in other organizations, including major gifts and relationship building
- Experience with foundations and community funds
- Professional knowledge and background in the American Jewish community
- Knowledge of and experience in Israel a plus
- Legacy or Endowment experience is a plus
- Strong level of personal communications, both 1-on-1 and public speaking - a storyteller
- Excellent writing skills
- BA degree or higher
- Ability to do out-of-town travel
This is a remote position (work from home) and will entail some multi-day travel. You will report to the Executive Director, but also work closely with Hand in Hand co-founder as well as the administrative staff.
