Assistant Teacher

Job Overview

The Early Childhood Center at Temple Shaaray Tefila is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and loving teacher for the 2026-2027 school year (job starts in Sept 2026). Candidates should be highly motivated, energetic, positive, outgoing, and dedicated team players to join our amazing teaching team.

The ECC is a Reggio-inspired, nurturing, play-based nursery school that instills a lifelong love of learning in each child. Teachers plan emergent curriculum based on the interests of the children. Our educational approach is rooted in the belief that through multi-sensory experiences, discovery, and problem solving, children gain the building blocks necessary to become enthusiastic and confident learners.

This is a part-time job (8:45am to 12 noon) and does not include health benefits. The job begins in September 2026.

Requirements: Fingerprint, medical, and background clearance will be needed.

Minimum Qualification/Requirements:

• CDA or Masters Degree
• Experience: Working with young children
• Qualities: Warm and nurturing
• Work Ethic: Hardworking and eager to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Commute: Must be able to commute to Bedford Corners, NY, no close public transportation to our location
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift when necessary for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
