Assistant Director of Youth Services

Shorefront YM-YWHA of Brighton-Manhattan Beach

The Shorefront Y is seeking a dynamic and creative Assistant Director of Youth Services to support year-round youth engagement, develop teen leadership, and help lead our summer day camp. This role is ideal for someone who loves youth work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about Jewish values and community-building.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and management of summer camp, including curriculum design, staff supervision, daily operations, and family communication.

  • Integrate music, arts, science, sports, STEM, and Jewish values into engaging camp programming.

  • Mentor teens interested in leadership roles and support their development year-round.

  • Develop and lead teen programs, events, and workshops that build community and foster Jewish identity.

  • Strengthen partnerships with local schools and community organizations to boost outreach and participation.

  • Assist with after-school programs and major Shorefront Y community events.

  • Contribute to marketing, outreach, and social media promotion of youth programming.

  • Serve as Acting Camp Director when needed.


Qualifications

  • Experience in youth programming, camp leadership, or Jewish education.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to design engaging programming for children and teens.

  • Knowledge of Jewish traditions and a passion for Jewish community life.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively and independently.

  • Proficiency in social media and digital communication tools.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Jewish Studies, Youth Development, or related field preferred.

Salary55,000.00 - 65,000.00 Annual
