Hours: Rosh Hashanah Day 1, September 12th 9am-1pm,
Yom Kippur Day, September 21st 9am-1pm
Location: Temple Sinai of Roslyn – Roslyn Heights, NY
Compensation: $125-$250 per day commensurate with experience

About the Position
High Holy Day Kids & Teen Experience Staff play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming, and meaningful experiences for children and teens during Temple Sinai's High Holiday programming. Staff members help facilitate engaging activities, build positive relationships with participants, and foster an atmosphere of joy, belonging, and learning. This position reports to the Director of Youth & Teen Engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage your assigned group children or teens in the provided age-appropriate activities throughout the program.
- Lead and assist with crafts, games, discussions, service projects, and other educational and recreational experiences provided.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by following all Temple Sinai policies and procedures.
- Assist with participant check-in/check-out, transitions between activities, and attendance as assigned.
- Help set up, organize, and clean activity spaces before, during, and after the program during the designated staff hours noted above
- .Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, volunteers, and fellow staff members.
- Model positive behavior, teamwork, flexibility, and enthusiasm throughout the day.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to behavioral or emergency situations, seeking support from supervisors when needed and following the provided procedures
NOTE: All staff members receive a thorough packet complete with all policies and procedures, program materials, and a schedule of activities as assigned. All materials for each activity are pre-packed and provided.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or teens in educational, camp, youth group, or similar settings preferred, required for the Lead Teacher Role.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while taking initiative when needed.
- Reliable, responsible, punctual, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Jewish traditions and holidays is preferred but not required for all positions.
