A Leadership Opportunity to Inspire Children, Educators, and Community

Temple Emanuel Early Childhood Center is seeking an exceptional Education & Site Coordinator to join our leadership team beginning Fall 2026.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced early childhood educator to serve as a collaborative partner to the ECC Director while helping to cultivate a school culture rooted in joyful learning, meaningful relationships, and educational excellence.

Our play-based, Reggio Emilia–inspired program is thoughtfully woven with Jewish values, honoring the individuality of every child and celebrating childhood as a time of wonder, creativity, exploration, and belonging. We are seeking an educator whose passion extends beyond the classroom—someone who is inspired to mentor teachers, support curriculum development, build strong relationships with families, and help guide our school community with warmth, integrity, and vision.

Key Responsibilities

The Education & Site Coordinator serves as a key member of the ECC leadership team and partners closely with the ECC Director to support the educational vision and daily operations of the school. Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the ECC Director in the day-to-day leadership and administration of the Early Childhood Center.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting teaching teams to promote excellence in early childhood education.
  • Serving in classrooms as needed to provide instructional support, coaching, and classroom coverage.
  • Assisting with curriculum development and ensuring fidelity to our play-based, Reggio Emilia–inspired philosophy.
  • Supporting licensing compliance, health and safety regulations, and program quality.
  • Building meaningful relationships with children, families, faculty, and the Temple community.
  • Helping coordinate admissions, family engagement, school events, and faculty professional development.
  • Promoting a collaborative, reflective, and joyful culture grounded in Jewish values.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • A California Child Development Program Director Permit, or qualifications to obtain one.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in an early childhood setting, including classroom teaching and educational leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, emergent curriculum, play-based learning, and Reggio Emilia–inspired practices.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative spirit, professional integrity, flexibility, and a genuine passion for mentoring educators and supporting young children.
  • Current immunizations and the ability to meet all California licensing health requirements for employment.

Position Details

  • Position: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Salary Range: $58,000–$68,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Start Date: Fall 2026
