Position Overview
Beth Israel is seeking a warm, organized, and highly capable Administrative Associate to support the daily operations of our Clergy Suite. This full-time position works closely with our rabbis, cantors, and the Clergy Suite Administrator to ensure smooth coordination and compassionate administrative support for our congregation.
Knowledge of Jewish customs, practices, and culture is a plus, but is not a requirement for this position. Beth Israel employs individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and faith traditions. Training and support will be provided to equip the successful candidate with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative and logistical support to clergy and the Clergy Suite Administrator.
- Serve as a welcoming and compassionate first point of contact for congregants, visitors, and staff.
- Manage calendars, scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation.
- Handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Support clergy lifecycle, pastoral, and programmatic needs as assigned.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers across departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Maintain organized records, files, and administrative systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant administrative or office experience, or comparable professional experience demonstrating readiness for the role. Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a dynamic environment.
- High level of discretion and comfort handling confidential and sensitive information.
- A proactive, flexible, and service-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn.
- Comfort learning new systems and technology; training and support will be provided as needed
- Office equipment, including multi-line phones, copiers, scanners, and printers
- Shared file management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Google Drive), database and CRM systems
- Email and correspondence management tools
- Calendar and scheduling software (experience with Planning Center or similar systems is a plus)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong proficiency in common office and communication tools and be comfortable learning new systems, including:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendar)
- Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms
- Database and CRM systems (experience with platforms such as Planning Center or similar systems is a plus)
- Calendar and scheduling software
- Email and correspondence management tools
- Shared file management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Google Drive)
- Office equipment (phones, printer/scanner, postage machine)
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position. The pay range is $26-$28 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, life, and disability insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; and free on-site parking.
