Part-Time Bookkeeper and Office Staff in a busy office for a small Jewish congregation in the North San Fernando Valley is seeking a part-time, in- person Bookkeeper/Office Administrator for approximately 25–30 hours per week. This position does not include any benefits as it is only part-time.

Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

Manage accounts payable (including maintaining organized digital records of vendor invoices)

Manage accounts receivables (via our CRM platform ShulCloud)

Process payroll and related filings

Prepare financial reports for clergy, staff, and lay leadership (using QuickBooks Online & Excel)

Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts

Track restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards

Monitor cash flow and flag any discrepancies or concerns

Provide tax statements or contribution records to congregants at year end.

Assisting with various other tasks during peak periods, including membership drives and the High
Holidays
Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications

Self-starter who is organized, communicative, and comfortable flagging and addressing issues as they come up.

Comfortable working with lay leadership (President, Financial VP, Administrative VP), staff, and congregants, including helping members with their accounts.

Willing to take on a sometimes front-facing role and interact with the community in a friendly, professional way.

Able to handle confidential information with discretion and good judgment.

Experience with ShulCloud software is a plus.

Experience with QuickBooks is mandatory for this posi6on.

Previous experience with basic bookkeeping a plus
