Position Overview

The Social Media Associate strengthens the digital footprint of The Jewish Agency in North America by crafting compelling content, engaging audiences, and advancing our brand narrative online. This role is ideal for a creative digital communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can turn organizational initiatives into meaningful, engaging social storytelling.

A key part of this role includes managing and motivating dozens of Shlichim (Israeli emissary ambassadors) across North America to generate high-quality content. You will assign tasks, create guidance, track submissions, and ensure consistent, on-brand storytelling from the field.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Management

• Create, write, and publish daily content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok).
• Produce short-form videos, photo assets, Reels/TikToks, and branded visuals.
• Maintain and execute the social media content calendar.
• Support integrated digital campaigns and organizational initiatives.

Ambassador (Shlichim) Network Management

• Manage and coordinate dozens of Shlichim stationed across North America to source authentic, on-the-ground stories.
• Develop structured content tasks, briefs, and assignments to guide their content creation.
• Provide clear instruction and feedback to ensure quality and brand consistency.
• Build strong relationships with Shlichim to foster ongoing creativity, participation, and alignment with digital strategy.

Community Engagement

• Identify real-time opportunities for proactive content, storytelling, or trend participation.

Analytics & Optimization

• Track platform performance and prepare weekly reports.
• Use insights to recommend strategies to boost reach, engagement, and follower growth.
• Conduct ongoing trend and benchmarking research.

Cross-Organizational Collaboration

• Work closely with program teams, shlichim, leadership, and the global communications team to source content and distribute messaging.
• Provide live event coverage when needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of social media, digital marketing, or communications experience (internships acceptable).
• Strong writing and visual storytelling skills.
• Experience with Canva or comparable tools.
• Familiarity with social analytics platforms.
• Ability to organize, manage, and motivate large numbers of contributors.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Israel and Jewish communal life strongly preferred.
• Creative, collaborative, and proactive work style.

Work Environment

• Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in the NYC office; occasional evenings/weekends for event coverage.
• Some travel may be required for major programs or content capture.
