Religious School Teachers

Seeking dynamic religious school teachers with a passion for Jewish education for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Temple Sinai is a warm and progressive Reform synagogue in Brookline, MA with a vibrant religious school rooted in community, joy, and a love of Judaism. Our program is held on Sundays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for K-7th graders and on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm for 3rd-6th graders. There are multiple teaching positions available with the option of teaching only one day a week, Sundays or Tuesdays. Compensation is $55-$65 per hour. 

 Responsibilities:

• Create, submit, and implement engaging lesson plans on various Jewish topics and Hebrew instruction (curricular support available) 
• Foster a creative and supportive learning environment that meets students’ needs
• Communicate with staff regularly regarding student progress and classroom needs  
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions throughout the year 

 Expectations and Qualifications:

• Experience working with children and a love for teaching 
• Warm, enthusiastic, and relational educator 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills 
• Knowledge of Reform Judaism, holidays, rituals, prayers, and synagogue vocabulary
• Ability to read Hebrew accurately
