Sunday Teacher (and Subs) at Progressive, Dynamic Congregational School

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and skilled teacher who can teach elementary-age students at Oseh Shalom Religious School. The 3rd and 4th Grade curriculum includes Parashat HaShavua (the Torah portion of the week), Hebrew reading, Jewish holidays, and Jewish values. We also lead Tikkun Olam projects, which is a central part of our school mission.

We are located just outside the beltway and off 95, 200, 29 and 198. Oseh Shalom Religious School (Pre-K – 12^th Gr.) hours are Sunday mornings 9 – 11:30 a.m. (September to May on-site only).

 
Oseh Shalom is a Reconstructionist synagogue located in Laurel, MD. We use interactive, modern, and values-based curricula in order to engage and inspire our young learners. Candidates should be comfortable working with diverse children and families and should be familiar with multi-sensory learning. They should have a strong Judaic base as well as a creative ability to think outside the box and commitment toward teaching the next generation.

Salary also includes a half hour of paid prep time per class and paid staff development time.

Please NOTE – We are also looking for substitutes on Sundays who can teach all ages in Judaics and/or Hebrew reading (with a lesson plan from the teacher). The school meets on Sundays from 9 – 11:30 a.m. We may also be looking for Hebrew tutors.
