Orthodox Rabbinic Intern

Onsite: Cambridge, MA.

Harvard Hillel is seeking a warm, thoughtful, and student-centered rabbinic intern to work with the Orthodox student community. This role is designed for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year semikha student at Yeshiva University who is excited about relationship-building, Torah learning, and helping foster a vibrant Orthodox Jewish community within a pluralistic campus environment.

The intern will serve as a consistent rabbinic presence on campus every other Shabbat, building meaningful relationships with students through learning, conversation, mentorship, and Shabbat community life.

Schedule & Commitment

The intern will be on campus every other Thursday evening through Sunday morning during the academic year, late August through mid May.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and facilitate Thursday night mishmar learning
  • Be present and engaged at Friday night dinner and oneg
  • Attend and participate in Shabbat morning services
  • Deliver a Shabbat drasha
  • Give a Friday evening or Shabbat afternoon shiur
  • Be present at or host Shabbat lunch
  • Build strong one-on-one relationships with students through mentorship, learning, and informal connection
  • Be available outside of campus weekends to meet virtually or in person with students and respond to questions as they arise
  • Support the ongoing growth and culture of the Orthodox Student Minyan community

  • A love of Shabbat hospitality and building community through shared experiences
  • Current 2nd, 3rd or 4th year semikha student at Yeshiva University
