Job Description Summary
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation seeks a dynamic and motivated professional to focus on financial resource development, leadership development and community building efforts with a focus on women’s giving.
The Development Professional will lead the Women’s Philanthropy (WP) regional annual campaign, including committee management, program planning, and direct donor engagement through face-to-face solicitations. The successful candidate is responsible for donor cultivation, stewardship and solicitation, relationship building, management of volunteer solicitors, leadership development, as well as program and event planning.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Fundraising & Campaign Strategy
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet annual campaign goals.
- Conduct face-to-face solicitations and engage prospective donors.
- Serve as donor relations manager to a group of assigned prospects.
- Track campaign progress and maintain accurate records of donations.
Volunteer & Leadership Development
- Recruit, support, and manage volunteer solicitors and campaign committees.
- Monitor campaign assignments and progress of volunteer solicitors.
- Identify and cultivate emerging lay leaders and develop leadership succession plans.
- Develop compelling programming for regional boards.
Events & Community Engagement
- Plan and execute events and initiatives for regional and WP-wide audiences.
- Participate in the planning and execution of broader Women’s Philanthropy events.
- Represent Women’s Philanthropy and the Federation at community and agency events.
- Support and recruit for Federation-wide events and programs.
Communications & Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and communications, to create promotional materials and support outreach efforts.
- Serve as a key liaison between donors, committees, and internal departments.
Qualification & Skills
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in community organizing and/or financial resource development
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Familiarity with the Jewish community, traditions, and the Jewish Federation system is preferred
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with donors, volunteers, and colleagues
- Experience working with volunteer committees and lay leaders
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to plan and implement campaign initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Skilled in handling and organizing confidential information
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and follow-through
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events and donor engagement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable working in a Windows environment
Compensation & Benefits
The Salary range: $70,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
