Description

The Religious School Administrative Coordinator helps create a warm, welcoming, and
organized environment for students, families, and staff. Working closely with the Director, this
position supports Sunday operations, administrative tasks, communications, and special events to
ensure the smooth operation of the Religious School.

Schedule

Sundays: 8:30 AM–12:15 PM (during the Religious School year)
Administrative Hours: Two additional flexible hours per week, coordinated with the
Director

Essential Responsibilities

Sunday Responsibilities

  • Welcome students, families, and visitors.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for families.
  • Track attendance and manage late arrivals and early dismissals.
  • Assist with student check-in and dismissal.
  • Answer questions and provide general information.
  • Prepare and distribute classroom materials for teachers.
  • Assist with classroom setup, breakdown, and basic technology needs.
  • Communicate with teachers, families, and the Director.
  • Support school-wide programs, holiday celebrations, and special events.
  • Maintain organized office and common areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Prepare copies, packets, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain student records, attendance, and dismissal information.
  • Prepare class lists, rosters, and nametags.
  • Organize office, classroom, and program supplies.
  • Assemble classroom materials before each Sunday.
  • Assist with family communications and event logistics.
  • Update bulletin boards, manage lost and found, and support administrative projects.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
  • Experience working with children and families preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Appreciation for Jewish education and synagogue life (Jewish knowledge is welcomed
    but not required).
