Description

Temple Ohabei Shalom (TOS), a vibrant Reform Jewish congregation in Brookline's Coolodge Corner, seeks a warm, organized, and highly capable Program & Events Coordinator to support the life of our community. This role is central to the planning and execution of Shabbat gatherings, holidays, life-cycle events, community programs, and space rentals. Working at TOS means being part of a collaborative, caring staff team and contributing to moments that matter deeply in people’s lives. We welcome applicants who are excited to build community, support meaningful experiences, and grow in a mission-driven environment.

Reporting to the Director of Operations & Engagement, the Program & Events Coordinator serves as the primary point person for event logistics and on-site coordination, working closely with clergy, staff, volunteers, vendors, and congregants to ensure welcoming, meaningful, and well-run experiences.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating Temple programs, holidays, and community events
  • Supporting life-cycle events (B’nei Mitzvah, weddings, funerals, baby namings)
  • Serving as on-site lead for programs, events and rentals
  • Managing space rentals and cultivating new rental opportunities
  • Supporting operational systems and process improvements

Ideal Candidates Bring:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • A service-oriented, warm, and professional demeanor
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, people-centered environment
  • Familiarity with Jewish life and synagogue culture
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

At Temple Ohabei Shalom (TOS), work is more than a job—it is an opportunity to make a difference every day. As Program & Events Coordinator, you will help shape experiences that bring people together, honor tradition, and create moments of joy, meaning, and connection. From sacred celebrations to everyday gatherings, your work will help ensure that our community remains a place where people feel welcomed, supported, and inspired. If you are energized by community, care deeply about hospitality, and want your organizational skills to serve something bigger than yourself, TOS offers a workplace grounded in purpose, collaboration, and heart.
