About the Israeli-American Council: 

The mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generation, the American Jewish community, and the bond between the peoples of the United States and the State of Israel.

 

Job Purpose:

The IAC is seeking a New England Regional Director to lead its vision of building a strong, educated, active, and resilient community with Israel at heart. The ideal leader will build on the existing educational programs, vibrant community-building activities, partnerships, and leadership cultivation efforts to expand IAC New England. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent interpersonal skills, deep knowledge of the Jewish and Israeli-American communities and cultures, and experience as a manager and fundraiser, possessing the necessary qualities to drive and implement the IAC mission and vision. The NE Regional Director reports to the Chief Communities Officer. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the IAC New England team, Regional Council, volunteers, and community. Set the strategy and lead the execution and growth of the New England Region.
  • Establish a strong and mutually supportive relationship between the Israeli-American community and the Jewish community in New England. Represent the Israeli-American community within the larger Jewish community as well as the Greater New England community.
  • Work closely with the Regional Council to:
    • Adapt the national vision and mission to the New England region. 
    • Develop a strong IAC local lay leadership.
    • Set the strategy and lead the execution and growth of the New England Region. Develop and implement a strong fundraising plan including major events. 
  • Lead all fundraising initiatives to meet fundraising goals.
  • Oversee IAC New England office programming, events, operations, finances, marketing, and other ongoing projects with the National IAC headquarters.
  • Hire, train, support, and supervise professional staff for the New England IAC Regional office. 
  • Create, oversee, and implement the annual budget. Monitor adherence to set budgets and the organization’s procedures, fundraise and support fundraising efforts. 
  • Play an active role in the leadership of the IAC, participate in overall organizational development and creation of new events and programs. Represent the IAC in various forums.

 

Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience in leadership and management of a non-profit organization with at least five years in similar positions.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Israeli and American cultures.
  • Fluent spoken Hebrew is required; reading and writing proficiency is a plus. 
  • Fluent in English - full comprehension, speaking, writing, and reading.
  • Conceptual thinker, ability to see the big picture and to create and execute a grand vision.
  • Good operational, administrative, and management capabilities, ability to lead processes.
  • Strong high-level planning and monitoring capabilities.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of employees.
  • Action-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactive, energetic, and positive leader. 
  • Public speaker.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with donors, Council members, staff, and community organizations.
  • Exceptional ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Israel-related issues and passion regarding community building.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred.

**Full-time employees working 20 plus hours per week shall be eligible for insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, & life) following the new hire waiting period.
