About the Role
Hebrew at the Center seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Day School Services & Professional Learning to lead and expand our impact on Hebrew teaching and learning across Jewish day schools.
This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of instructional leadership, field-building, and relationship management, shaping both direct services to schools and high-quality professional learning for educators nationwide, and requires strong project management to carry complex initiatives from vision through execution.
Key Responsibilities
Day School Services & Partnerships
- Lead and oversee Hebrew at the Center’s educational services to partner schools, including coaching, mentoring, consulting, and school-based professional development
- Build strong relationships with school leaders and support long-term instructional improvement
- Supervise and support a team of coaches and advisors to ensure high-quality, aligned service delivery
- Lead multi-year change processes with partner schools, integrating coaching, mentoring, virtual and on-site professional learning, and assessment tools to support sustainable instructional improvement.
Professional Learning Leadership
- Design and facilitate innovative professional learning experiences, including workshops, , webinars, courses and ongoing learning communities
- Oversee flagship programs (e.g., teacher training, leadership cohorts, online courses)
- Personally facilitate and teach select workshops, courses, and leadership programs, in addition to overseeing their design and delivery.
- Serve on the planning team of Hitkadmut, The Annual Hebrew Educators Conference
- Advance best practices in Hebrew language education
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Contribute to organizational strategy as a member of the leadership team
- Partner across departments to support program growth, recruitment, and retention
- Partner with organizational leadership on annual planning, goal setting, and evaluation to ensure programs are aligned, effective, and responsive to field needs
- Support recruitment and retention of partner schools and program participants through relationship-building and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Help expand Hebrew at the Center’s reach and impact within the field
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced instructional leader with deep expertise in second language acquisition research and Hebrew language education and pedagogy
- Strong manager with experience supervising and developing educators or coaches
- Skilled facilitator and communicator, comfortable leading both small groups and large-scale learning experiences
- Strategic thinker who can manage multiple initiatives and drive long-term impact
- Passionate about strengthening Jewish identity through Hebrew language
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate in second language education, Hebrew instruction, or a related field
- Professional fluency in both Hebrew and English (spoken and written)
- Extensive experience in Hebrew language education
- Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, coaching, or professional learning design
- Experience working with Jewish day schools or similar educational settings preferred
Compensation & Flexibility
This role is budgeted at $120,000–$140,000 for a full-time position, depending on experience and credentials. We are committed to finding the right candidate and are open to discussing part-time arrangements as well.

Work Environment & Start Date
- Location: Remote, with some travel for meetings, in-person coaching, conferences, and events.
