Beacon Hebrew Alliance is seeking Creative Jewish Educators to lead joyful, hands-on learning for children in grades 2 and 3. If you love working with kids, building community, and bringing Judaism to life through art, games, storytelling, music, cooking, nature, and meaningful conversations—we'd love to meet you.

Beacon Hebrew Alliance (BHA) is a warm, welcoming, progressive, and inclusive Jewish community in the heart of the Hudson Valley in Beacon, NY. 

Position Details

Sundays: 9:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Optional One Friday per month: 4:00–6:00p.m., leading into our community Shabbat celebration (we'd love for you to stay!)

Our program serves approximately 60 students, ages 5–13.  We combine music, prayer, art, and Jewish learning through fun and engaging experiences.  We use the Shalom Learning curriculum as a foundation while encouraging creativity, innovation, and meaningful Jewish experiences.  Along the way you’ll receive a lot of support from our Education Director.

We're Looking for Someone Who...

  • Loves working with children and enjoys building meaningful relationships with students and families.
  • Has a basic knowledge of Jewish values, Hebrew, and Jewish traditions.
  • Brings enthusiasm, warmth, and ruach (Jewish spirit) to everything they do.
  • Thinks creatively and enjoys incorporating art, music, dance, drama, cooking, nature, games, or other hands-on experiences into learning.
  • Is an excellent communicator with strong classroom management skills.
  • Is flexible, collaborative, dependable, and eager to take initiative.

This position is a wonderful fit for camp counselors, educators, college students, retirees, or anyone who loves inspiring children through joyful Jewish learning and is looking to supplement their income during the school year.

Compensation: $45/hour
