Hebrew College is seeking a seasoned and relationship-driven development professional to join our unique and committed Department of Institutional Advancement as a Major Gifts Officer.
Founded in 1921, Hebrew College is dedicated to reimagining Jewish learning and leadership for an interconnected world. Our graduate and professional development programs prepare rabbis, educators, and communal leaders to serve a vibrant, diverse, and evolving Jewish community. Our community education programs create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn, question, connect, and grow. Across all our programs, our work helps cultivate a vibrant, pluralist Jewish community in Greater Boston and throughout North America and empowers learners to engage thoughtfully and meaningfully with Jewish life.
The Opportunity
The Major Gifts Officer will play an important role in advancing this mission by building meaningful, lasting relationships with donors and prospective donors and securing philanthropic support aligned with the College’s strategic priorities. Working closely with a small, collaborative team, the Major Gifts Officer will help cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and contribute to achieving Hebrew College’s annual campaign fundraising goals.
At Hebrew College, philanthropy is deeply connected to our mission. The generosity of our donors makes possible the learning, teaching, exploration, and community-building that happen here every day. The Major Gifts Officer will have the opportunity to help donors see the impact of their partnership with Hebrew College and to connect their values and passions with the work of the College.
Our Institutional Advancement team is a group of talented professionals who put egos aside and roll up their sleeves. We work closely with senior leadership, lay leaders, faculty, and colleagues across the College, bringing together a wide range of talent, knowledge, and relationships to make the most of every introduction, conversation, and solicitation.
We value camaraderie, collegiality, creativity, and a willingness to pitch in. The successful candidate will be a positive and supportive colleague who enjoys working collaboratively, knows how to build authentic relationships, and brings a genuine passion for strengthening a vibrant, pluralist Jewish community.
This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven institution where philanthropy directly supports learning, community, and the future of Jewish education—and where the work of fundraising is itself about building relationships, creating connection, and inviting people into something meaningful.
This is a full-time, hybrid position reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer. The annual base salary range for this position is $95,000–$115,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
