Position:

Middle School Humanties Teacher:  ELA, Social Studies and History

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach ELA, Social Studies & History content to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students
  • Works collaboratively with Jewish Studies Teacher to integrate Judaism into curriculum 
  • Provides hands-on and engaging lessons for students 
  • Participates in team, department and faculty meetings as required
  • Supervises students during lunch and recess shared responsibility times
  • Create a positive and warm classroom environment following the Responsive Classroom program
  • Attend school events outside of the school day as they pertain to school programming and admissions events.
  • Regular and ongoing communication with families as to students strengths and needs
  • Provide timely feedback to students
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred).
  • Classroom teaching experience.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Knowledge of and experience teaching using Project Based Learning, Design Thinking and other current pedagogical best practices. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and school administration.
  • Passion for bettering the lives of students.

Compensation and benefit summary:  

Salary:  $70,304.00.  Competitive benefits offered including medical, dental, vision and life insurance. Facility discounts including fitness club membership.
