Position:
Middle School Humanties Teacher: ELA, Social Studies and History
Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach ELA, Social Studies & History content to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students
- Works collaboratively with Jewish Studies Teacher to integrate Judaism into curriculum
- Provides hands-on and engaging lessons for students
- Participates in team, department and faculty meetings as required
- Supervises students during lunch and recess shared responsibility times
- Create a positive and warm classroom environment following the Responsive Classroom program
- Attend school events outside of the school day as they pertain to school programming and admissions events.
- Regular and ongoing communication with families as to students strengths and needs
- Provide timely feedback to students
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred).
- Classroom teaching experience.
- Collaborative team player.
- Knowledge of and experience teaching using Project Based Learning, Design Thinking and other current pedagogical best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and school administration.
- Passion for bettering the lives of students.
