My Little School, a Jewish Preschool located in Tribeca, is seeking to hire a full time lead teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. We are a community school that feels like family. Our school is inviting, thoughtful and dynamic, and a formative presence in NYC early childhood education. We value the social emotional needs of children and their innate curiosities, and work with our teachers to design curriculum that is intentional, hands-on and stimulating. We place a strong emphasis on creating a positive school culture where Jewish values and traditions are a central focus and learning is brought to life with joy through our passionate educators. 

Ideal candidates should have a Masters in Education (or a related field), or be working towards their Masters, and have at least 3 years of experience working with children ages 2-5 years old in a school setting.  Candidates should be passionate about children and early childhood education and possess a collaborative, positive attitude; candidates should have a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. 

Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Create a safe, warm, engaging learning environment in the classroom
  • Classroom Management: establish clear expectations, systems and routines
  • Team Leader: delegate responsibilities appropriately and effectively amongst the teaching team and ensure that all classroom responsibilities are addressed in a manner that meets the expectations of the school
  • Curriculum: develop and implement hands on, creative, and often immersive curriculum that incorporates developmentally appropriate skills (with support and guidance from administration)
  • Communication: an understanding of the essential role communication plays in daily school life for children, parents and colleagues
    • Communicate respectfully and intentionally with children and colleagues
    • Establish open, thoughtful, respectful and timely communication with parents
    • Share weekly blogs and updates with parents, as well as lead formal and informal conversations with parents
  • Demonstrate knowledge of developmental milestones and age appropriate skills
  • Observe, document, and assess children’s learning trajectories
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to continue your growth as an educator
  • Attending weekly team meetings with your team and administration
