Chief Operating Officer

Position Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing daily operations and long-term operational strategy. This role will ensure the community delivers exceptional resident care, achieves operational excellence, and meets organizational objectives. The COO reports to the CEO and supports direct reports in fostering a culture of hospitality and resident-centered service.

 
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

• Operational Leadership:
  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all operational departments including Dining Services, Building and Environmental Services, Life Enrichment, Resident Services, and Information Technology.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and performance standards that support the community.
• Financial & Business Performance:
  • Collaborate with CFO to develop and manage annual budgets for all operational departments.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and cost savings without compromising resident needs.
• Strategic Planning & Growth:
  • Support the CEO and Board in executing strategic plans, capital improvement projects, and long-range community development.
  • Support technology initiatives to elevate operational performance and resident engagement.
• Team Leadership & Culture Building:
  • Collaborate with CPCO to support recruitment, workforce planning, training, and retention strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate direct reports to build a team focused on delivering high quality hospitality for residents.
• Collaboration & Partnerships:
  • Work closely with leadership team members to achieve community-wide objectives.
  • Build relationships internally and externally and with vendors and community partners.
