The Aleph Institute is looking to hire a talented Prison Programs Receptionist to join our growing team! The Prison Programs Receptionist will manage all incoming phone calls and email platforms/communications that take place between The Aleph Institute and people in prison. This person will have an instrumental role as a problem-solver in addressing the prisoners’ needs in a timely manner and as a gatekeeper to help incoming inquiries reach the correct team member. This person will also be responsible for liaising with the families of the prisoners in a discrete and sensitive way. Additionally, this person will deal with outgoing mass communications to the prisoners, as well as arranging conference calls between the prisoners and Aleph advocates. The Aleph Institute is seeking an applicant who can work well under pressure and who approaches his/her work with a “can-do” positive attitude. Position Requirements:

  • 2+ years prior experience in an administrative or coordination role
  • Proficient in computer use including online research, Google apps, and Microsoft office suite programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Supportive of The Aleph Institute’s mission and values
  • Ability to operate with ease in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to detail
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and needs
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, inter-personal, and social skills
