Director of Education

Education Director beginning July 1, 2026

Job Summary: Temple Shaarei Shalom is seeking a passionate and dynamic Education Director to lead its educational initiatives; an Education Director who values yesterday, understands today, and prepares for tomorrow.

This individual will play a key role in fostering a lifelong love of Jewish learning and engagement among our diverse community members.

The Education Director will have oversight of the Congregation’s Religious School that begins with preK and continues
through high school and responds to every learner’s background and needs. In addition, they will oversee youth and
family engagement programming.

As a leader within the synagogue, they will look to bring the innovation and flexibility which will create an environment that leads to growth of the Congregation and the Religious School. The Education Director will foster meaningful connections with our students and their families beginning in
early childhood and continuing through high school. They will work in close collaboration with the clergy, staff, and Board.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Jewish Education, Jewish
Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Deep knowledge of Reform Jewish theology, customs,
and traditions.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in education, curriculum
development, and program management.
• Evidence of successful teaching and supervisory experiences.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with
the ability to build rapport with learners of all ages and
backgrounds.
• Creative and innovative thinker, capable of designing
engaging and impactful learning experiences.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of the congregation.
