About AJA:

Position Overview:

AJA seeks a Judaic Studies teacher for the 2026-27 school year in Lower School (Grades 1-4). Our ideal candidate is an experienced, dynamic educator who is a master of both craft and content, excels at forging relationships with students, and thrives as a collaborative team member. This position emphasizes a co-teaching model, where you will work closely with teaching partners to create an integrated, student-centered learning environment.

We seek educators who are committed to living and modeling the values of Modern Orthodox Judaism, serving as role models for our students in both learning and practice.

AJA is poised for growth over the upcoming years, and rebbeim and morot who want to influence the development of Atlanta's Jewish community and this school are invited to reach out. AJA features a robust mentoring program and welcomes new-to-the-field teachers seeking a nurturing leadership team to develop their talents.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach all Yahadut subjects, including Chumash, Chagim, and Navi

  • Teach in Ivrit 

  • Teach and lead tefila

  • Collaborate closely with teaching partners in a co-teaching model, including shared planning, instruction, and assessment

  • Work as part of an integrated Lower School team to support diverse learners and create cohesive learning experiences

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen teaching practice

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Jewish practice and texts

  • Fluent Ivrit proficiency, including the ability to read, understand, and teach in Ivrit

  • Facility with methods of instruction and classroom management

  • Experience working in an educational setting, preferably in a Jewish day school

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a co-teaching environment

  • Able to develop positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents

  • Ability to teach Ivrit as a language is preferred but not required

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder preferred
