Seeking:  Book Keeper/ Finance & Shulcloud Specialist (Sherman Oaks)

 

Summary:

We are a very small and friendly Synagogue in need of a finance specialist efficient in Quikbooks and is experienced with Shulcloud. We are seeking a part-time a highly motivated and detail-oriented finance assistant who has the capability to work with a small team at a very timely and efficient pace. In this vital role, you will support the organization’s financial operations by managing data entry, bill paying, account reconciliations within Shulcloud, and OuickBooks financial reporting systems. Your expertise in these two accounting and database software programs and financial concepts will help ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Shulcloud.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure accurate billing.
  • Assist with financial reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • Support tax-related activities and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
  • Contribute to account reconciliation efforts including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger accounts.
  • Perform routine audits of financial data to identify discrepancies or errors promptly.
  • Answering phone calls and efficient message distribution and various other office duties.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Shulcloud, Excel, Microsoft 365, Google Sheets or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis.
  • Ability to analyze financial data critically and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Work Arrangement:
• This is an in-person position.
• An in-person interview is required before hiring.
