Temple Israel of the City of New York, a vibrant, engaged, Reform congregation on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is looking for creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Religious School teachers to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for the ultimate triple threat – candidates who are knowledgeable in Judaism, proficient in Hebrew, and are able to lead a chugg (elective) in a creative field related to Judaism (art, cooking, movement, etc.).

K-3^rd grades – Mondays, 4:00-6:00pm 

4^th-6^thgrades – Wednesdays, 4:00-6:00pm 

All candidates should: 

• Be proficient in using educational technologies in a classroom setting.
• Have prior experience with experiential learning.
• Have a strong sense of their own Jewish identity.
• Be experienced in building community in creative ways
• Have prior teaching or camp experience (preferred).
• Experience working in settings with children with special needs is a plus.
• Be creative, with the ability to augment, customize, and adjust existing lesson plans, as needed.
