The Associate Director of Development (ADOD) will be responsible for identifying, managing, and developing strategic relationships with existing and new donors within their assigned territory with the goal of elevating donors to a higher level of Annual Giving, and into mid-level and major giving when appropriate. In this role, the ADOD will collaborate with local and regional volunteer leadership as well as philanthropy colleagues to effectively network and partner on key initiatives and events.

Candidates must be located in the West Coast Region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements cultivation and solicitation plans for new Annual Giving donors on a case-by-case basis using multiple touch points including email, telephone, mail, and in person meetings.
  • Serve as a representative at various national, regional, or chapter events.
  • Effectively manage a portfolio of 150-200 donors and prospects.
  • Keep up to date notes and donor records in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with local volunteer leadership on select Annual Giving and donor engagement events
  • Present to groups at events or other venues about Hadassah and the various opportunities to give
  • Assist with donor outreach and follow up during key times of the year such as End of Year, annual conference, or a large event
  • Prepare updates and reports on donor pipelines to your supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Education, Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 3 to 5 yrs. development or fundraising experience
  • Experience working with volunteers and partnering with them for individual donor cultivations and solicitations
  • Database and computer literacy, specific knowledge of Salesforce preferred
  • Knowledge of and level of comfort with development best practices
  • Must have a high level of proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Responsive to deadlines and service to multiple assignments
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the West Coast Jewish community and the Jewish philanthropic community

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Event experience highly desirable
  • Comfort with public speaking
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
