Temple Or Elohim, A Community Reform Congregation in Jericho, Long Island, NY, a vibrant and welcoming congregation is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Full-Time Invested Cantor to join our clergy team. We are a warm, inclusive, and forward-thinking congregation, committed to meaningful worship and lifelong learning. Our Temple embraces tradition while celebrating innovation, musical diversity and active congregational participation. We are seeking a Cantor who posseses a beautiful, inspiring voice that deepens communal worship and: 

• Musically leads services every Friday evening on Shabbat, during the High Holidays and every other holiday services, B'nai Mitzvah services on Saturday monings, evenings and an occassional Thursday morning and at special temple events.
• Officiates at funerals, weddings and other life cycle events.
• Encourages participatory worship and congregational singing.
• Directs and expands the current Temple Choir and develops a children's choir.   
• Works closely with the Hebrew School students and prepares B'nai Mitzvah students with skill, patience and warmth. 
• Chants from the Torah and teach others to do the same.
• Provides compassionate pastoral care and is present during life-cycle moments.
• Partners collaboratively with other clergy, staff and lay leadership.

This position will begin on July 1,2026. We are seeking a person who is approachable, warm and engaging and who brings energy and visiblity to our broader temple community as well.
