Job Summary
We are seeking an inspiring Director of Lifelong Learning (DoLL) to lead our dynamic, relational, and forward-looking educational program. The DoLL will guide Jewish learning from early childhood through adulthood, shaping a cohesive vision for learners of all ages.
This role offers the opportunity to build upon strong existing programs—including our YESh Religious School, robust adult learning offerings, and flourishing preschool—and to imagine new pathways to engage our rapidly growing community.
Key Responsibilities (Summary of Core Areas)
- Provide educational vision and leadership across youth, family, and adult learning.
- Oversee YESh Religious School operations, curriculum, faculty, and culture.
- Teach across age groups and model engaging, relationship-centered Jewish learning.
- Partner with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to strengthen congregational learning.
- Manage religious school and adult learning budgets.
Community & Program Statistics
- Nearly 1,000 member households (980 and growing)
- Religious School (YESh): ~100 K–7 learners
- Preschool: ~140 children (infant–5 years)
- Adult learning: Hundreds participate annually
- Educational team: 10–15 faculty and 10–12 student teachers
- Senior staff includes: Senior Rabbi, Cantor, Assistant/Associate Rabbi, Executive Director, Preschool Director
Team & Organizational Culture
The DoLL reports to the Senior Rabbi and works collaboratively with a talented senior staff team that values warmth, innovation, professionalism, and relational leadership. Temple Shalom’s culture centers on inclusivity, teamwork, and a commitment to Relational Judaism.
Desired Qualifications
- Training in Jewish education, curriculum development, or related fields (MAJE, MARE, or equivalent preferred)
- Experience in congregational or family education
- Ability to design engaging and meaningful Jewish learning experiences
- Strong supervisory skills and comfort mentoring faculty
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to teach across a broad range of ages
- Collaborative spirit and comfort partnering with clergy, staff, and lay leaders
Previous Experience
Candidates should have practical experience in Jewish educational settings, including teaching, program development, or faculty supervision. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds who demonstrate competence in educational leadership and a passion for lifelong Jewish learning.
Hours & Location
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Naples, Florida. Evening and weekend hours are part of congregational life. Flexible scheduling and occasional remote work are available in coordination with the Senior Rabbi.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000–$120,000 (commensurate with skills and experience)
