Role Overview

Hillel International is seeking a Director of Student Marketing to oversee all student-facing and young alumni marketing initiatives. Collaborating closely with partners across the organization and external vendors, this position leads planning, execution, and analysis of marketing campaigns directed toward current Jewish college students, high school students, and young alumni.

This role requires excellence and expertise in digital marketing, content development, writing and editing, and cross-team collaboration. In addition, applicants should have the ability to concept and execute creative and successful multichannel marketing campaigns across web, email, digital advertising, and social media content to speak to audiences across a variety of marketing and communications platforms.

The Director of Student Marketing should have a strong management background and will supervise a team of four full-time professionals focused on promoting opportunities for high school students, programs and initiatives for college students and young alumni, and immersive Israel experiences. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, and is fully remote. We’re seeking the best candidates, regardless of where they live and work.

What you'll bring to the job:

  • 8+ years of professional work experience in digital marketing, advertising, or similar fields
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in marketing, communications, or similar area
  • Proven track record of creating successful multichannel marketing campaigns across a variety of platforms, including email, social media (paid and organic), SMS, out of home, paid search/SEM, etc.
  • Ability to develop innovative, creative, and unique content that surprises, delights, and inspires action among the target audience
  • Experience marketing and speaking directly to a Gen Z and/or student audience
  • Expertise with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or Marketing Cloud
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellence in writing, editing, and creating written content for different audiences, mediums, and contexts
  • Sophisticated knowledge of digital analytics (Google Analytics experience a plus) to improve marketing and engagement outcomes and meeting or exceeding key performance metrics (KPMs)
  • Experience using CRMs such as Salesforce to segment and analyze audience data to target marketing campaigns to specific audiences
  • Proficient to excellent in Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere
  • Proven record of supervision and management experience with success in mentoring and developing early career professionals
  • Fluency and familiarity with Jewish history, topics, and themes
  • A team-oriented approach to work, a strong work ethic, stellar organizational skills (always meets or exceeds deadlines), a sense of humor, and an ability to take risks and learn from challenges

What you'll own and how you'll spend your time:

  • Lead planning, implementation, and follow-up analysis of multichannel marketing campaigns for all student-facing audiences, including high school, college, and young alumni
  • Oversee creation of effective digital and social media advertising campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and TikTok, optimizing copy, images/video, and audiences for conversion
  • Enhance email marketing to students through design and strategy, incorporating A/B testing, segmentation, analysis, regular cadence, and automated journey building
  • Envision and develop the user journey of Jewish high school students’ entry into Hillel using tools like the College Guide Magazine, Jewish scholarships, college fairs, and first-year welcome gift
  • Promote programmatic, leadership, and travel opportunities for current Jewish college students, including immersive Israel experiences such as Birthright trips
  • Build Hillel International’s alumni digital engagement efforts, including the creation of an alumni networking and career platform with our partner, Graduway
  • Expand Hillel International’s scholarships program, including the execution of a successful marketing campaign, analysis, thoughtful review and selection of applicants, and announcement of recipients
  • Lead development of graphic and written assets for campus Hillel partners in the form of marketing toolkits and customizable Canva templates for all relevant marketing campaigns
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of four full-time marketing professionals, including direct management of three professionals
