Jewish Education Grants Officer

 

A NYC-based foundation seeks an experienced grants officer for a position with a primary focus on Jewish education.  This grants officer will be part of a team of grants officers who relate to the several areas of the foundation's mission. The grants officer will collaborate with grant team members – including, within Jewish education, colleagues focused on camps and day schools – and the finance and legal departments to ensure effective and efficient grantmaking, grant monitoring, and grant reporting processes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Broad knowledge of Jewish education in its many settings in the United States
  • Knowledge of & demonstrated interest in organizations and programs serving teens, collegiates, and young adults; educational trips to Israel for American youth; synagogue movements and synagogue-based educational initiatives
  • Familiarity with the foundation and philanthropic sector
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with others
  • Strategic thinking and sound judgment
  • Experience in grant initiation, development, monitoring, and analysis

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Remain current on research, activities, and trends in the field of Jewish education
  • Implement & monitor grants awarded by the foundation in the scope of the Jewish education grants portfolio
  • Identify opportunities for grant investment in the Jewish education sector consistent with the foundation's mission
  • Participate in proposal review and due diligence processes
  • Monitor grantee compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements
  • Generate reports for the board and/or committees of the board
  • Liaise with foundation's finance office and legal department as part of grants management
  • Perform such other duties as might be required

COMPENSATION & WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time hybrid work schedule (currently 3 days in NY office, subject to change)
  • Annual salary of $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 commensurate with experience
