About the Role
FIDF is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Affinity Groups – Northeast Region to lead and grow affinity-based fundraising initiatives, with a primary focus on the Real Estate and Financial Services Division with a strategic oversight of the Women’s Campaign.
Reporting to the Vice President, Northeast Region, this role is responsible for increasing philanthropic revenue and expanding FIDF’s donor base throughout the Northeast. The Director will manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation prospects and design and implement effective solicitation strategies, while broadening engagement beyond the Real Estate and Financial Services sectors. Success in this role requires a sophisticated, diplomatic fundraiser with a genuine passion for FIDF’s mission and the ability to work comfortably with donors and volunteer leaders of influence.
Revenue Goals & Time Allocation
The Director, Affinity Groups – Northeast Region is accountable for meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals across assigned affinity areas.
Annual Revenue Responsibility
- Total annual fundraising goal: $7 million (established annually)
- Real Estate Affinity Group: approximately 60% of total revenue
- Women’s Campaign: approximately 25% of total revenue
- Financial Services Division: approximately 15% of total revenue
Time Allocation
- Real Estate Affinity Group – 30%
Lead donor strategy, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, events, and missions; serve as primary relationship manager for top donors and lay leaders.
- Women’s Campaign – 20%
Provide strategic leadership and fundraising support; partner with the Director of Women’s Campaign on donor engagement, solicitations, and growth initiatives.
- Financial Services Division – 50%
Support division expansion through strategic planning, donor cultivation, solicitations, and volunteer leadership development.
Time allocation may shift based on performance, organizational priorities, and annual fundraising goals.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop and execute short- and long-term fundraising strategies to achieve Northeast Region revenue goals.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for Real Estate and Financial Services donors.
- Manage all Real Estate and Financial Services Divisions for fundraising events, missions, and engagement initiatives.
- Oversee the Women’s Campaign through solicitations, strategic planning, and donor engagement.
- Assist in building and expanding all Divisions.
- Partner with the Marketing team to enhance brand awareness, campaign materials, and consistent messaging.
- Identify, recruit, and collaborate with volunteer lay leaders and affinity committees.
- Oversee donor stewardship, recognition initiatives, and special fundraising events.
- Utilize RENXT to manage donor relationships, track activity, and support fundraising efforts.
- Supervise the Director of Women’s Campaign, Associate Directors of Financial Services and Real Estate Divisions, and Development Associate.
- Collaborate with the Northeast team and the National team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years of demonstrated success in philanthropic fundraising, including direct solicitation and closing of major gifts.
- Strong knowledge of the Northeast Jewish community, culture, traditions, and communal services.
- Proven experience designing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage details while maintaining a strategic, big-picture focus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Genuine passion for FIDF’s mission; experience working with Israel or Israelis preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal, diplomatic, and leadership skills; comfort working with volunteer lay leadership.
- Advanced computer literacy, including experience with donor management and CRM systems.
- High energy, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends and to travel as needed, including occasional travel to Israel.
