Archivist- Librarian

Experienced archivist needed to assist private individual in organizing and processing a collection of documents, records, photographs, correspondence, books, and ephemera.

The client is businessperson, Holocaust survivor, and Jewish community leader living in the greater Philadelphia area. His materials relate to his pre-World War II childhood in Europe; his family’s Holocaust experience; his post-war life in USA; and his return to Europe, which led to his construction of a Holocaust Memorial adjacent to the town’s old Jewish Neighborhood. The client is writing an extensive, illustrated memoir of his life story and the historical contexts in which it has unfolded. The bulk of the materials are at his Philadelphia-area business office, with some files relating to Slovakian Jewish heritage at his Los Angeles office. The organization and processing undertaken by the archivist will efficiently accessing information for all non-profit activities.

MLS with archives experience
Minimum 3–5 years active experience
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to work independently
Experience working with Holocaust collections and/or survivors.
Knowledge of Jewish History required.

$25.00 hourly

This is an in-office position, not remote.
