Temple Beth Shalom (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY) Seeks Teaching Assistant

Temple Beth Shalom – a Reform synagogue in the Rivertowns of Westchester – is looking for an Assistant Teacher for Second Grade on Sunday mornings.

The Assistant Teacher will join our Lead Teacher in the classroom to instruct Second Graders on Sunday mornings from 9:15-11am, following a curriculum developed by the Lead Teacher in collaboration with the Director of Jewish Education. Students will learn a variety of Jewish topics with a special focus on Jewish holidays. During Hebrew Through Movement (15 minutes) and Assembly (25 minutes), the Assistant Teacher will be primarily responsible for helping students stay focused while others lead class.

The position can start as early as October 5th. The Assistant Teacher will be paid $75/hr for the 2025-2026 school year. There are roughly 24 remaining Sundays expected in this school year (with an expectation of some snow days or special events), so it will be an estimated $3000-$3800 range for their pay for the rest of the academic year (October 25-May 2026)
