Job Summary:

Yavneh Day School, a community Jewish day school, seeks an energetic, enthusiastic, and flexible Middle School Judaic Studies teacher for the 2022-23 school year. 

 

The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching Judaic Studies and helping students to understand and appreciate Jewish traditions and culture, the study of Torah, T’fillah, the people and the land of Israel. This person will help our students become responsible citizens of the world and proud representatives of the Jewish people, with an understanding of and commitment to Social Justice. The successful candidate will be professional, collaborative, and possess personal integrity.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work cooperatively with colleagues in planning and implementing a creative and exciting Judaic Studies program, integrated into a general studies curriculum as well as specified classes. 
  • Participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, holiday celebrations and school wide activities. 
  • Establish and maintain standards of excellence for supervision and student engagement.
  • Promote active participation of all students to ensure a positive and rewarding experience: in the classroom, at play and throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administration as needed regarding social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Maintain close partnerships with families, including phone calls, conferences, and written communications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and relevant experience 
  • Experience with implementation of technology across the curriculum (Google Suite) 
  • Excellent written and oral skills (parent communications, progress reports) 
  • Flexibility to work in multiple settings and shared facilities 
  • Desire to engender a love of learning and Judaism in our students
  • Willingness to work as part of multiple teams 
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development

Compensation and benefit summary:
