About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the spiritual, cultural, and communal life of Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the largest synagogue on the West Coast and one of the most historic congregations in the United States.
As the Executive Administrative (EAA) to the Senior Rabbi, you will serve as a trusted partner-helping ensure the Rabbi can lead effectively, stay focused on the highest priorities, and fulfill his commitments to thousands of congregants. Your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on the Temple community and the future of Jewish life in Los Angeles.

Position Overview
The EAA is a key member of the synaogue's leadership operations, representing the Senior Rabbi to congregants, clergy, staff, and the broader community. THis role blends administrative excellence with strategic support, including project managment, scheduling, relationship-building, and follow-through on initiatives critical to the Temple's success.
Duties and Responsabilities
Strategic Support & Project Management
- Act as a thought partner to the Senior Rabbi, helping prioritize big-picture goals and long-term commitments.
- Proactively manage clergy-initiated projects: arrange/facilitate meetings, track progress, and ensure follow-up.
- Maintain a "master list" of open items for the Senior Rabbi and clergy team, ensuring that important issues receive timely attention
Collaboration & Team Integration
- Partner closely with othe clergy assistants and staff, fostering a highly collaborative and supportive team environment
- Support cross-department projects and initiatives that strengthen community engagement and Temple operations.
Lifecycle Event Coordination
- Coordinate the Senior Rabbi's involvement in lifecycle events (weddigns, baby namings, funerals, etc.) serving a warm and professional liaison with congregants during meanigful life moments.
Scheduling and Meeting Management
- Strategize with the Senior Rabbi regularly about priorities and scheduling for upcoming months.
- Manage a complex calendar of meetigns and events with clergy, staff, board members, and community leaders.
- Handle meeting logistics: confirm appointments, prepare agendas and materials, arrange catering/facilites, and ensure the Rabbi is always well-prepared in advance.
Relationship Management & Communication
- Track key relationships using the Temple's CRM, coordinating closely with Membership and Development staff.
- Review, organize, and manage email communications; respond on the Rabbi's behalf when appropiate.
- Draft professional correspondence, presentations, and other written materials.
Team Leadership & Process Coordiantion
- Oversee a team of clergy support members, promoting consistent systems and best practices
- Assist with the recruiting, training, and mentoring of clergy assistants.
Administrative Excellence
- Manage digital and paper files, clergy expenses, and office needs with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Identify routine tasks that can be streamlined, delegated, or optimized for efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years' experience in senior-level executive support (nonprofit or faith-based setting a plus).
- Knowledge of Jewish holidays and lifecycle events preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and database management (e.g. Raiser's Edge).
- Familiarity with AI productivity tools for drafting, scheduling, or research is highly valued.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with social media and digital platforms.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
