POSITION OVERVIEW 
The Division Rabbi integrates Milken’s mission and core values into the fabric of the division and the school as a whole. Serving as an active member of the Division Leadership team and a partner of the Division Director, the Division Rabbi is a key, visible leader on campus. The Division Rabbi works to cultivate  Jewish identity, create sacred community, and teach Torah formally and experientially. The Division Rabbi is part of the Rabbinic Head’s 6-12 Rabbinic Team. The Division Rabbi reports to the Division Director.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership + Jewish Life Programming 
  • Serve as part of the Division Leadership Team and offer a Jewish lens regarding vision, policy, and student growth. 
  • Serve as a member of the 6-12 Rabbinic Team.
  • Vision, implement and administer the Jewish calendar for the year, which includes all spiritual practice (e.g., Tefilah, Oneg, and Minyan B’Yachad) and holiday programming.
  • Build student leadership capacity to run Jewish programming.
  • Create relationships with feeder schools and other stakeholders in the Jewish community.
Curriculum, Instruction and Integration 
  • Teach two classes, including the advanced Beit Midrash class with its Moot Beit Din competition.
  • As a member of the Judaic Studies Department, collaborate with department members to enhance curriculum, instruction and integration.
  • Integrate Jewish texts, values and ideas into curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular programming (i.e., service field trips, Shabbatonim, retreats, grade-level trips, etc.). 
Adult Education (Parents and Faculty)
  • Work with new faculty to learn about the cycles of Jewish life.
  • Lead new parent education learning on core values.
  • Facilitate divisional faculty learning on core value theme of the year.
Pastoral/Teshuvah
  • Work with Division Dean to develop and implement Teshuvah plans with students as needed following disciplinary actions. 
  • Provide rabbinical support to community members during times of need.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Rabbinical Degree.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a Jewish educational setting.
  • Strong teacher of Jewish texts.
  • Highly knowledgeable in the developmental needs of students, possesses a love and empathy for adolescents and teens, and understands best practices of teen programming.
  • Role model and educator regarding issues of mission, core values, and pluralism of our school for our students, parents, and faculty.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with parents, administration and faculty.
  • Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to professional development in all areas related to learning, Jewish programming and leadership.
  • Organized, flexible, able to contend with complexity and nuances. 
  • Proficient with educational technology platforms.
 
SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $135,000
