Position Overview

Sixpoint seeks a highly motivated and strategic Chief Development Officer (CDO) to join our leadership team. The CDO will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, cultivating relationships, and securing resources to drive organizational growth.

This position reports directly to the CEO and plays a pivotal role in ensuring Sixpoint’s financial sustainability and future impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement a holistic fundraising strategy aligned with Sixpoint’s mission and goals
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and strategic partners
  • Lead major gift solicitations, grant writing and reporting, and fundraising initiatives for special projects
  • Draft donor correspondence and organizational updates to build strong, lasting relationships
  • Collaborate with the design team to produce compelling marketing materials, pitch decks, and annual reports
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential donor records; oversee donor database
  • Partner with the COO and Director of Strategic Partnerships on project proposals and funding opportunities

Strategic Planning & Team Leadership

  • Align development strategy with organizational priorities and long-term plans
  • Provide mentorship and support to staff involved in development, donor relations, and grants
  • Represent Sixpoint at funder conferences and organizational gatherings as needed

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and monitor fundraising budgets in collaboration with the leadership team
  • Provide regular reports on fundraising performance and KPIs
  • Utilize donor CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite to manage and report on development activities

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in development and fundraising with at last 7 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven success securing major gifts, winning grants, and meeting or exceeding fundraising targets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities
  • Deep understanding of the Jewish philanthropic landscape in the U.S.
  • Collaborative team player who actively contributes to idea generation and strategic discussions
