Overview and History:
Founded in 1972, Americans for Ben-Gurion University (A4BGU) is a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness and runs programming within the United States in support of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). Americans for Ben-Gurion University plays a vital role in sustaining David Ben-Gurion’s vision: creating a world-class institution of education and research in the Israeli desert, nurturing the Negev community, and sharing the University’s expertise locally and around the globe
The Marketing Operations Manager is responsible for execution of a marketing strategy which consists of marketing materials including social media, events, website, email campaigns, direct mail, brochures etc. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Operations Manager spearheads initiatives from ideation to creation to execution, and monitors and analyzes metrics in order to adjust campaigns accordingly. As operations manager, this role creates deadlines for internal department and external consultants, and communicates progress of marketing projects to other stakeholders and departments as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Spearhead email, website, and social media omni-channel strategy to feed the marketing funnel of prospects to donors in small gifts category.
- Monitor and report on social media, website and email analytics on regular basis
- Drive and increase traffic to the website through creative original content and resharing content from the website through other channels
- As Operations Manager, create and manage deadlines for marketing department and outside consultants, such as designers. Communicate the deadlines to stakeholders within other departments
- Draft copy for all digital and print materials, and work closely with designers to bring vision to life
- Collaborate with the Events Team and update them on deadlines and manage the review process for event marketing materials
- Manage Marketing Coordinator, and oversee social media strategy
- Manage outside consultants, including website developers, designers, direct mail vendor, and Pardot specialist
- Work with Director of Marketing & Communications and members of the Development team on yearly fundraising campaigns – translating them to social media and email marketing and devising and tracking KPIs for said campaigns
- Manage yearly email calendar and in collaboration with marketing team, create, test and schedule eblasts for events, fundraising campaigns, evergreen content, and awareness campaigns
- Evaluate digital platforms and recommend changes as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years’ marketing experience
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills: Ability to express self clearly and empathetically in interactions with others in all forms of communication
- Interpersonal Awareness: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and actively contribute both individually and as a member of working teams
- Professional Credibility: Ability to take responsibility for meeting goals, objectives, deadlines, and solving problems while representing the mission, vision and values of the organization
- Ability to work with outside vendors
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Technical proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF Software
- Evaluate digital platforms and recommend changes as needed
- Proficiency with WordPress and FileMaker
- Proficiency with Salesforce, and eCRMs including Pardot
